If you're promoting podcast or video content on Spotify, you can choose between two delivery goals under the "Engagement on Spotify" campaign objective: Streams and Clicks.

If your goal is to promote podcast or video content, we recommend using the Streams delivery goal.

In Spotify Ads Manager, a stream is counted when a user plays at least 30 seconds of the promoted show within 14 days of seeing or hearing your ad.

Reporting

In the reporting tab of your ads, you can access standard ad set metrics, including:

Delivery

  • Impressions: The total number of times the ads within the ad set were delivered to Spotify users.

  • Reach: The total number of people who heard the ads within the ad set.

Bidding

  • CPM: CPM: Cost per 1,000 impressions. This metric updates hourly based on spend and impressions delivered.

  • Bid cap: The maximum bid for your ad set. You can set this during campaign creation and edit it at any time while the campaign is active.

In addition to the standard metrics above, you'll have access to additional metrics for the Streams delivery goal, providing insights into the performance of your promoted content.

Engagement

  • Streams: The number of times users streamed your content for at least 30 seconds within the 14-day attribution window.

  • Listeners: The number of unique Spotify users who streamed at least 30 seconds of the promoted content within the 14-day attribution window.

  • New Listeners: The number of listeners who had not streamed your content during the 28 days before seeing or hearing your ad.

  • Listener Conversion Rate: The percentage of listeners who streamed your content after seeing or hearing your ad.

Conversion window

Spotify Ads Manager uses a 14-day conversion window. Actions taken within 14 days after a user sees or hears an ad from the ad set are attributed to the campaign and counted as conversions.

Delivery

The Delivery section provides additional insights into ad set performance.

  • Listeners

  • New listeners

  • Average streams: The average number of streams per listener within the 14-day attribution window.

  • Average CPM: The average cost per 1000 impressions.

  • Clicks: The total number of clicks on ads within the ad set.

  • CTR (Click-through rate): The percentage of ad impressions that resulted in a click.

These insights can be broken down by age, gender, and platform.

Population of metrics

Metrics begin populating approximately 24 hours after your ad set starts and refresh every few hours thereafter.
