There are two main steps to creating a Spotify Pixel in Spotify Ads Manager:

  1. Create your dataset and make it available to the ad accounts that need access.

  2. Configure your Spotify Pixel settings, conversion events, and event parameters.

Once setup is complete, you’ll be able to copy the full code snippet for each event and install it on your website.

Before you begin, make sure you or your developer have access to your website’s source code or a supported tag management tool so the Spotify Pixel can be installed. We recommend allowing enough time before your campaign begins to complete setup, install the Pixel, and verify that Spotify is receiving event activity.

Create your Spotify Pixel dataset

  1. Log in to Spotify Ads Manager.

  2. From the global menu in the top-left corner of the screen, select Events.

  3. Select Connect data source.

  4. Choose Spotify Pixel as your connection method.

  5. Enter a name for your dataset and your website URL.

  6. Choose which ad accounts should have access to the dataset. You can also update access later if needed.

  7. Select Create to finish creating your dataset.

Your dataset should generally be associated with the website where the Spotify Pixel will be installed. When entering your website URL, use the top-level domain for your website, such as www.example.com.

Set up your Spotify Pixel

After creating your dataset, follow the Setup Spotify Pixel instructions in Spotify Ads Manager.

During setup, you can review and configure available Pixel settings, including matching and first-party cookie settings.

Set up your Pixel events

The Page View event is required when using the Spotify Pixel and should be installed across your website. All other conversion events are optional and can be added based on the actions that are most important to your business.

To set up and access your event code:

  1. Go to Events in Spotify Ads Manager.

  2. Select the dataset you want to set up.

  3. Follow the Setup Spotify Pixel instructions.

  4. Review your Pixel settings, including available matching and first-party cookie settings.

  5. Under Install event code, select the additional conversion events you want to measure. Page View is required, while all other events are optional.

  6. For each event, select any additional parameters you want to send with that event.

  7. Copy the complete code snippet generated for each event and install it in the appropriate location on your website.

Select conversion events that reflect the actions you want to understand and measure, such as purchases, leads, sign-ups, or products added to cart.

If you choose to send event parameters, the generated event code may include placeholder values that need to be replaced with the corresponding values from your website before installation.

If you're working with a developer, you can use the Copy link option to share the setup instructions, selected events, parameters, and code with them.
