Custom audiences built from customer lists help match data from your community to Spotify’s users. The customer list file can include information about your customers – such as e-mails, device IDs, and phone numbers which are called identifiers. We use identifiers to match your customers to Spotify users.
When uploading customer lists, it’s important to format your file correctly. Follow these steps to avoid upload errors during custom audience creation.
If certain steps are missed (for example, failing to lowercase device IDs or hashing first without normalizing), the chances of matching with a Spotify user decrease significantly.
Prepare your customer list by following these requirements and specifications:
-
File must be .csv.
-
File size must have at least 1,000 rows. We can only accept files up to 1GB.
-
File must include at least one main identifier. You can upload e-mail addresses, device IDs, and phone numbers in the same file, but these must be outlined in separate columns. Mixing identifiers in the same column is not supported.
-
Use the correct column formatting that matches each identifier type.
