GENERAL QUESTIONS

Which Mobile Measurement Partners (MMPs) are supported?

Spotify currently supports app install attribution through Adjust, Kochava, and Appsflyer and Branch. Apple’s SKAdNetwork is also supported.

Which events are supported?

Spotify supports measurement for installs and any in-app events that your app is configured to measure with your MMP (opens, in-app purchases, etc). However, Spotify only surfaces app installs in Ads Manager reporting. To view post-install event data related to your Spotify campaign, please refer to your MMP reporting dashboard.

Which postbacks can I set up with Spotify?

The install postback can be set up to surface install data in the Spotify reporting UI. If this postback is not set up, install data will still be available in your MMP dashboard. Postbacks for other post-install events are not supported in Spotify reporting.

Does Spotify support view-through attribution?

Yes, Spotify supports view-through attribution. If applicable, please ensure that view-through attribution is enabled for Spotify in your MMP dashboard.

What are Spotify’s attribution windows?

Default attribution windows for each MMP are listed below. Advertisers who prefer different attribution windows may customize them in their MMP UI.

SETUP QUESTIONS

Where do I put my MMP tracking link during campaign setup?

MMP tracking links are applied on the ad level in the “Third-party measurement” section. Please apply both impression and click tracking links, and double check that the right tracking link was applied to the correct event (i.e, make sure the impression tracker is applied to the impression event).

Which Ads Manager objective should I use?

The App Installs objective is designed to optimize performance for App Install campaigns.

Where can I find my Spotify App ID?

In Ads Manager, navigate to Apps and complete the onboarding process to access your Spotify App ID. If you’ve already completed the onboarding process your Spotify App ID will be available in your Apps list.

Can I use mobile deep links or multi-platform URLs as the click-through URL?

This is on our 2026 roadmap, but today Ads Manager does not support mobile deep links or multi-platform links such as AppsFlyer’s OneLink. Please use the Apple App Store or Google Play Store link as your click-through URL when setting up your ad.

TROUBLESHOOTING QUESTIONS

Why am I not seeing installs in the Spotify reporting UI?

Note: App install reporting is currently in beta for Kochava and AppsFlyer.

To troubleshoot, please first confirm that:

  1. The app install campaign is live in Spotify Ads Manager with impression and click delivery.

  2. You have applied MMP impression and click tracking links to the creative in the “Third-party measurement” section.

  3. Your Spotify App ID was correctly entered in the MMP dashboard.

  4. The install postback has been successfully created for Spotify in your MMP dashboard.

  5. AppsFlyer clients only: ensure that you have granted dashboard access and aggregate install reporting to Spotify.

  6. Your campaign is showing impressions and click delivery.

  7. At least 24 hours have passed since the campaign began.

  8. Confirm with your MMP representative that the campaign has been set up correctly on the MMP side.

If you have completed all troubleshooting steps above and still don’t see any installs in Ads Manager reporting, please reach out to your Spotify account team or request support here. In the meantime, you may refer to your MMP dashboard as the source of truth for app install data.

Why is there a reporting discrepancy between Spotify and my MMP?

Small discrepancies may occur due to brief delays in data sharing between Spotify and our mobile measurement partners (up to 24h). However, if you see a reporting discrepancy above 10%, please reach out to your Spotify account team, or request support here. In the meantime, you may refer to your MMP dashboard as the source of truth for app install data.
