Approved measurement vendors can supply impression trackers and click trackers to help advertisers validate key ad events across all Spotify Ads Manager's campaign objectives. Spotify supports the application of tracking URLs sourced from approved third-party vendors to enable real-time verification, brand lift measurement, online attribution, and more.

Implementing measurement tags in Ads Manager

Advertisers can apply measurement tags on the ad level to track impression and click events. During ad setup, scroll to the bottom of the page and expand the “Third-party measurement” section to apply impression and click trackers.

Troubleshooting

You can confirm that the third-party tracker is applied to your live campaign by checking the ad level settings for your live campaign in Spotify Ad Manager. The 'Impression' or 'Click' tracker must include your vendor-supplied tag and include the supported macros.

If you receive an error when adding an impression or click tracker to a Spotify Ads Manager campaign, or the vendor is not receiving data after the tag has been applied, use the checklist below to troubleshoot.

For further support, please reach out to your representative at the approved third-party vendor for troubleshooting.

Troubleshooting checklist:

  • When booking a campaign, confirm that impression and click tracking URLs  are properly entered into the respective fields within the Third Party Measurement section of the ad creation page.

    • For example, please confirm that impression tags are properly applied in the impression tracker field, not the click tracker field, and vice versa.
  • Check that the type and number of special characters matches the macros listed in the table above

    • Example: the correct cachebuster macro formatting is %%CACHEBUSTER%% and not {CACHEBUSTER}
  • For campaigns outside of the EU and UK, GDPR macros can be removed.

  • If using the %%GDPR_CONSENT_VAR%% macro, check that the “VAR” portion of the macro has been replaced with the vendor’s unique ID.

    • Examples: %%GDPR_CONSENT_755%% or %%GDPR_CONSENT_345%%
    • All vendor IDs are published by the IAB here.
